I hope that you have been thinking about your strategy for your new health regime? Following this theme, let’s now look at where you are now; at what’s working and what is really a disaster for your health. Let’s do that SWOT analysis that we all love so much.
What are doing that you know is supporting your overall health? Are you doing any physical exercise, perhaps you go to the gym or jog or play tennis? Then look at your diet what are you consuming on a regular basis; are you and your family making healthy food choices? Are you drinking sufficient water? Do you manage some alcohol free days or you are lucky enough not to drink alcohol at all!
No exercise or hardly any, sitting most of your day at a desk peering at a computer or attending meeting with the inevitable coffee and yes those biscuits. Do you have a poor diet, often eating on the run and not even thinking about the damage this may be doing to your health. Drinking only coffee all day and then most evenings reaching for that glass of wine or spirit as soon as you get home or in your hotel. Some days not eating anything all day but drinking alcohol, or sometimes not eating until the evening and then eating really late, often having dinner at 10.00pm. These are the bad habits that need to change now for the sake of your health and future health.
The main opportunity you have is in your own hands you can decide today to make some changes that will improve your health almost immediately. Make that decision and commit to a new healthier lifestyle. You can easily have water on your desk and in your car. You can ditch those biscuits and white bread sandwiches and start considering what you are ingesting. Become conscious of your health and choose food that will nourish you. It is really all down to having a good strategy for your health.
When you are totally focused on work and success; when you are committed to improving the output of your business, pleasing the Board and the shareholders, when all you are thinking about is work, your health can easily be forgotten, even taken for granted. This is the major threat to your wellbeing now and in the future. You have tried every diet going and do not have time for your health. You are disillusioned with all the conflicting reports about what you should and should not be eating. You simply do not have time to look after your own needs.
